Apprentice Guide Month One Dragon age: 0 days through 1 month Dragon size: At hatching dragons will range from 2-4 meters. Dragons will grow about 2-3 meters each month until they reach their full size. Dragon size by the end of the month Gold: 6-8 meters Bronze: 6-8 meters Silver: 5-7 meters Brown: 5-7 meters Crimson: 4-6 meters Blue: 4-6 meters Green: 4-6 meters - Dragon will eat 5 full meals a day for the first two months.
- The meal is not actually a full herdbeast, but rather the choicest meats cut up by the Apprentice to be fed to the dragon. After Hatching day, all Apprentice's must prepare all food for their dragon themselves.
- This time is devoted to bonding between Apprentice and dragon as they get to know each other. Apprentices will have no real freetime, as all their time will be devoted either to their studies or caring for their young dragon.
- Apprentices will suffer from sleep deprivation during these early weeks as they are forced to wake often to feed and care for their dragon, for their dragon is like a small infant child.
Focus during this month - Understanding the Ferin structure: tour, other chores, rules, and expectations
- Learning to salute properly
- Learning to butcher a herdbeast carcass for your dragonet, and proper feeding, especially watching for overeating.
- Learning more about your bond – learning to separate the feelings as belonging to rider or dragon. Early on this will be very difficult for both Apprentice and dragonet.
- This early month will be focused primarily on caring for your dragon with more structured lectures coming in the following months.
